SAOL Project Fashion Show 2017 12th October 3pm at The Complex
Through the medium of fashion and music we explored social and political history in relation to women in Ireland. Using clothes bought and upcycled from local charity shops, SAOL participants created outfits to represent each decade from the last 100 years. The initiative, started in May 2016 and culminated in a narrated, musical and visual ‘Fashion Show’ in October 2016.
This is the up-graded show! It includes a whole new set of clothes for the 2000s, representing key issues facing the women of SAOL throughout the 17 years of this new millenium.
The show will also see the launch of 'Object2Poverty'; a new art campaign alerting people to poverty in Ireland and calling for action.
SAOL is funded by HSE, DSP, CDETB, Probation and the NICDATF.
