April 2013 | Goodbye Mary and Nicola

As noted on the front page, Mary O'Toole left SAOL this month - after 6 years of toast making in the kitchen! Her CE time ran out and we are all very sad to see her go. She brought more than her toast making skills, though - her kindness and motherliness spread a warmth throughout the whole building and made the kitchen the centre of SAOL. We wish you well in all your endeavours and are glad that you'll be coming back here on a Wednesday to volunteer.

April also saw the departure of another C.E. worker, this time from the Children's Centre - Nicola. Nicola has worked with us for the past year or so and has brought so much love and kindness to the children that she is going to be very hard to replace. Nicola has such a genuine love for children combined with a professional eye and brilliant memory for details that she made sure that the children she was caring for got the best of everything they needed. She is a great team-worker too, so Aisling, Michelle and Siobhan are going to miss you very much. Again, we welcome you back for the days you are volunteering but hope that you get the job you are looking for.
